Indian Prime Minister Modi arrives in Kyiv

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Kyiv on an official visit.

This is reported by The Times of India.

It was previously reported that he will share with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the prospects for a peaceful resolution of the war with russia.

The visit of the head of the Indian prime minister is taking place at the invitation of President Zelenskyy.

Modi's arrival comes nearly six weeks after his controversial trip to Moscow, which drew criticism from the United States and some other Western allies.

This is the first visit of the Prime Minister of India to Ukraine since the country gained independence in 1991.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was expected to pay his official visit to Ukraine on August 23.

In early June, Zelenskyy congratulated Modi on the victory of his party in the parliamentary elections in the country and invited him to visit Ukraine.

During his visit to russia in July, Modi called for an end to the war in Ukraine.

India summoned the ambassador of Ukraine due to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's remarks regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Moscow. India also postponed the meeting of the joint working group with Ukraine on cultural issues.
