Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, was detained in France. The country's law enforcement agencies want to have Durov recognized as an accomplice in several crimes at once, including drug trafficking and distribution of child pornography.

This was reported by the French channel TF1 with reference to its own sources.

According to the channel, Durov was detained at Le Bourget airport as soon as he got off the private plane on which the Telegram founder flew from Baku (Azerbaijan).

Durov's detention was carried out as part of a warrant issued by the National Department of Criminal Investigation based on the results of a preliminary investigation.

The reason for this was Telegram's lack of cooperation with French law enforcement agencies, as well as the presence of tools offered by the messenger, which, according to the court, make it an accomplice to drug trafficking, fraud and the distribution of child pornography.

A TV channel source in the law enforcement agencies said that after the arrest, Durov was taken into custody. After his arrest, he was to appear before a judge.

At the same time, today, August 25, he can be charged with a number of crimes: terrorism, drugs, complicity, fraud, money laundering, handling stolen goods, pedophilia, etc.

Durov faces up to 20 years in prison.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier in July, Telegram founder Pavlo Durov stated that he is the biological father of more than 100 children, who were conceived using his donor sperm.

We will remind you that at the beginning of August, the Verkhovna Rada once again talked about blocking Telegram due to the threats that the messenger allegedly poses to the security of Ukraine.
