Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, stands for depriving the fugitive Member of Parliament Artem Dmytruk of his mandate, in particular, in accordance with Article 81 of the Constitution.

He said this at the "Ukraine 2024. Independence" forum, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"I separately want to emphasize that all this time we carried out the issue of early deprivation of parliamentarians of their mandate on the basis of 7 points, which are provided for in Article 81 of the Constitution of Ukraine. And we will carry them out in this way at any time. If there are grounds, the Ukrainian Parliament will never delay this matter," he answered the question about the termination of Dmytruk's powers.

Stefanchuk emphasized that Dmytruk was not sent on any business trip from the Verkhovna Rada.

“The person performed this act (went abroad) and it is very far related to the law (on the prohibition of the Russian church). As far as I am informed, the information has already been entered into the Unified State Register, an investigation is underway. And based on the results of the investigation and the results of the adopted decisions, decisions will be made in the Ukrainian Parliament," the Speaker of the Rada noted.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the SBI summoned Verkhovna Rada member Artem Dmytruk for questioning after he fled abroad.
