Russians close entry to city where Kursk NPP is located

Kursk oblast, Kursk NPP, Kursk, operation in Kursk oblast

The authorities of the Kursk Oblast of the aggressor country of russia have decided to close the entry to the city of Kurchatov, where the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant is located. For this, roadblocks will be installed in front of the city.

The acting governor of the Kursk Oblast, Aleksey Smirnov, announced this.

According to him, the Ukrainian military allegedly does not stop trying to enter Kurchatov.

"In connection with this, as well as in order to ensure additional security measures <...> a decision was made to limit entry to Kurchatov in the near future," Smirnov wrote.

He added that now only those who are registered in Kurchatov will be able to freely enter the city.

People who work in the city, but do not have a residence permit, must contact the administration to obtain passes.

The city will also be closed to vehicles transiting through Kurchatov. They will need to find alternative routes.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in the first days after the beginning of the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast, the Kursk NPP remained practically defenseless, as most of the guards were sent to restrain the advance of Ukrainian units.

We will remind, on August 9, the russian media reported that the russians began to prepare the Kursk NPP for defense, some of the personnel were dismissed to go home.

We also reported that the russians staged a cross procession through the territory of the Kursk NPP to protect it from alleged Ukrainian attacks.
