State debt in July set historical record - increased by 2.1% to USD 155.4 billion

The aggregate state (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine in July compared to the previous month increased by 2.1%, or by USD 3.2 billion, to USD 155.36 billion.

This is stated in the data of the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

State and state-guaranteed debt at the end of July amounted to UAH 6,374.09 billion, or USD 155.36 billion, against UAH 6,167.97 billion, or USD 152.16 billion, a month earlier.

The total amount of direct government debt as of the reporting date was UAH 6,050.06 billion (USD 147.46 billion) against UAH 5,850.15 billion (USD 144.31 billion) a month earlier.

At the same time, direct external debt increased from USD 103.79 billion to USD 106.72 billion in the month.

Direct domestic debt increased in hryvnia equivalent from UAH 1,642.58 billion to UAH 1,671.27 billion (in dollar equivalent - from USD 40.52 billion to USD 40.73 billion).

The state-guaranteed debt at the end of the reporting month amounted to UAH 324.03 billion, or USD 7.90 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the total state (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine for 2023 increased by 30.4% or USD 33.87 billion to a record USD 145.32 billion.

In 2022, the total national debt increased by USD 13.39 billion, or 13.66%, to USD 111.34 billion.

In 2021, the national debt increased by 8.52%, or by USD 7.69 billion, to USD 97.95 billion.

In 2020, the total national debt increased by 6.9%, from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.
