In Poland, on the night of Monday, September 2, F-16 fighter jets were raised in the air due to the russian missile attack on the territory of Ukraine.

The Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Poland reported this on the X social network.

"This night, intensive activity of long-range aviation of the russian federation is observed, related to the task of strikes on objects located on the territory of Ukraine. The last time such activity of the russian aviation was observed on August 27. All necessary procedures to guarantee the safety of Polish airspace have been initiated, and the Operational Command is monitoring the situation," the message reads.

It was noted that due to the activity of Polish and allied aviation in the south-eastern part of Poland, an increased level of noise may be observed.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the morning of September 2, a series of powerful explosions rang out in Kyiv, and air defenses are operating in the capital. The air alert covered the entire territory of the country. Several groups of cruise and ballistic missiles entered the airspace of Ukraine. According to the monitoring channels, all the missiles, having performed maneuvers, are flying towards Kyiv. At 5:27 a.m., the Air Force reported repeated launches of ballistic missiles in the direction of Kyiv.

As a result of falling debris, fires were recorded in the Holosiyivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, damaged elements of the entrance to the Sviatoshynska subway station. It was also reported that rescuers were called to the Solomianskyi district. Debris of the missile hit the building of the boiler room of the educational institution.
