Rada refuses to dismiss Bezuhla from post of deputy head of National Security Committee

The Verkhovna Rada refused to dismiss MP Maryana Bezuhla from the position of deputy head of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence.

For the project of resolution No. 10391, voted a total of 205 MPs with the minimum required 226.

MP from the Holos faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, announced this in his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The resolution proposed to recall Bezuhla from the post of deputy chairperson of the committee on national security, defense and intelligence.

The explanatory note states that according to the third part of Article 7 of the Law "On Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine", the deputy chairman of the committee may be removed from office at any time by the decision of the Verkhovna Rada, including due to circumstances that make it impossible for him to fulfill his duties.

It is noted that a proposal to remove the deputy chairperson of the committee due to the above-mentioned circumstances may be made by the relevant committee.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Committee on National Security of the Verkhovna Rada voted to introduce a resolution to exclude Bezuhla from its membership.

Verkhovna Rada member from the Servant of the People faction, deputy head of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence Maryana Bezuhla was recalled from the post of head of the subcommittee on democratic civilian oversight and control.

On July 17, Bezuhla left the Servant of the People faction.
