Ukraine receives EUR 70 million from CEB as part of HOME project for compensation for destroyed housing

Ukraine has received EUR 70 million from the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) as part of the implementation of the "HOME. Compensation for destroyed housing".

This is stated in the notification of the Ministry of Finance, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The funds raised are the first tranche of two planned stages by the end of the current year.

According to the HOME project, the funds will be used to finance housing certificates, as a mechanism of direct assistance, thanks to which citizens will be able to receive compensation for housing destroyed as a result of hostilities and terrorist attacks of the russian federation.

The main final beneficiaries are combatants, persons with disabilities and large families.

In the framework of the joint project with the CEB, it is planned to finance compensation for more than 2,000 housing certificates, which will allow about 5,700 Ukrainians to receive compensation for destroyed housing. The project is being implemented within the framework of the eRecovery service throughout the territory of Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 11, on the sidelines of the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine (URC2024), Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko and Head of the Council of Europe Development Bank, Carlo Monticelli, signed the corresponding Agreement on a loan of EUR 100 million within the framework of the HOME. Compensation for destroyed housing.

In June, the state budget of Ukraine received a tranche of unconditional financing (Pre-financing) in the amount of EUR 1.9 billion from the European Union.

Budgetary support from the EU is expected to reach EUR 16 billion in 2024.
