Exports of goods increase by 6.4% to USD 3.2 billion in August

In August, compared to July, the export of Ukrainian products in monetary terms increased by 6.4% to USD 3.16 billion.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Economy, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"For the second month in a row, exports are growing thanks to the early start of harvesting and the improvement of sea logistics. In August, we increased cargo turnover by sea transport by 224,700 tons or by 3.6% compared to July. Ukraine remains the guarantor of food security in the world. In August "Ukraine supplied more than 2.2 million tons of wheat worth USD 420.4 million to foreign markets. After the record figures of February 2024, this is the second record figure both in terms of volume and value since the beginning of the full-scale invasion," the First Deputy Prime Minister. - Minister - Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko noted.

In particular, in the agricultural sector, Ukraine exported in August: rapeseed — 878,900 tons worth USD 421.3 million; wheat — 2.24 million tons worth USD 420.4 million; sunflower oil — 226,900 tons for USD 203.1 million; corn — 774,500 tons worth USD 137.4 million; barley — 524,800 tons worth USD 89.7 million; poultry meat — 39,900 tons for USD 89.5 million.

At the same time, among industrial products in the structure of Ukrainian exports, the following prevailed: iron ores and concentrates — 2.51 million tons worth USD 201.4 million; semi-finished iron products — 198,500 tons for USD 99.9 million; flat rolled steel — 139,700 tons for USD 82.4 million; pipes made of ferrous metals — 38,000 tons for USD 54.6 million.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in July compared to June, the export of Ukrainian products in monetary terms increased by 11% to USD 3 billion.
