According to the assessment of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, the results of the investigation into the Ukrainian F-16 crash will be known in the near future.

He said this in an interview with CNN.

Thus, according to Syrskyi, a special commission of the Ministry of Defense is currently conducting an investigation to find out all the facts of the crash of this plane.

"I think that the results of the investigation will be known to everyone in the near future. And on the one hand, we are not going to hide it, and on the other hand, the effectiveness of the use of these aircraft is proven by the results - the destruction of four cruise missiles by a pair of F-16s, so it certainly will strengthen our defense capability, first of all, in the fight against enemy cruise missiles," he said.

At the same time, Syrskyi emphasized that before the disaster, the pilot who was killed shot down two missiles and attacked, chasing the third cruise missile using onboard weapons.

The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the Ukrainian pilots were well prepared. They were trained in educational institutions of partner countries, and, in addition, the best pilots who already had experience in the effective use of aircraft in service with the Ukrainian armed forces were selected for training.

"Undoubtedly, they came as highly qualified, which was confirmed by our partners, and they received all the permits for the operation of these planes," he added.

We will remind, on August 29, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the loss of the first F-16 fighter in Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 29, Member of Parliament Mariana Bezuhla stated that the F-16 had been shot down by a Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.

At the same time, American and Ukrainian investigators do not consider "friendly fire" to be the cause of the downing of the fighter.
