Zelenskyy dismisses Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Head Mykyta and appoints him Yermak's deputy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed the head of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, Viktor Mykyta, and appointed him the Deputy Head of the President's Office.

This is stated in Decrees No. 619 and No. 620 of September 8, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

According to Decree No. 619, Mykyta was released according to the statement he submitted.

Mykyta said on Facebook that now one of the priority issues of strengthening the state's defense capability is the effective work of regions and local authorities at all levels, in this sector we need quick and effective solutions that will ensure the fulfillment of tasks that are critical for the country. In this regard, Zelenskyy decided to direct his efforts to strengthen the direction of regional policy in the position of the Deputy Head of the Office of the President.

Oleksii Kuleba, who was appointed by the Verkhovna Rada on September 5 as the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction - the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories, previously dealt with this issue in the President's Office.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 6, the Cabinet of Ministers agreed to Zelenskyy's dismissal of Viktor Mykyta, the head of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration.

In December 2021, Zelenskyy appointed an employee of the Security Service of Ukraine, Mykyta, as the governor of Zakarpattia Region.

On September 5, Zelenskyy dismissed the Deputy Head of the Office of the President Mykola Tochytskyi, Oleksii Kuleba, and Yuliia Sokolovska.
