American actor James Earl Jones died at the age of 94.

Jones is known to have died at his home in Pawling, New York. The cause of death has not been released at this time.

James Earl Jones is best known for voicing Darth Vader in the Star Wars film series. He also voiced many other films, including animated ones. Among other things, he gave the voice of Mufasa in the cartoon The Lion King.

In 2011, Jones won the Academy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography.
