Slovak Prime Minister Fico "saw" Nazis in Ukraine. Foreign Ministry disappointed

Slovakia, Robert Fico

The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, said that the Nazis are allegedly fighting on the side of Ukraine, and the international community is not reacting to this.

He said this during the commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust in the Slovak city of Sereď, Teraz reports.

"We all talk about fascism, Nazism, and at the same time we silently tolerate the fact that there are troops running around Ukraine that have a very clear designation, that are associated with movements that we consider dangerous and forbidden today. Since this is a geopolitical battle, no one cares," Fico said.

In response to this statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed hope that Slovakia, together with other countries, will oppose the "latest russian evil". In general, the Foreign Ministry is "disappointed" with Fico's statements.

"Ukrainian soldiers are currently defending their relatives, homes and country, as well as all of Europe and the free world from the russian invaders, marked with the Latin letters "Z" - a symbol of the fascist aesthetics of modern russia. For Ukrainians, opposing russian aggression is a continuation of the history of our people's resistance to totalitarian regimes in last century," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Slovak President Peter Pellegrini believes that the members of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) should show restraint in negotiations with Ukraine on joining NATO.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico had a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal. During the conversation, the head of the Slovak government offered his decision to restore the transit of russian Lukoil oil.
