Instead of "economic reservation" - "fight or work". Cabinet initiates new reform

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the Cabinet of Ministers is preparing to make changes to the principle of reservation from mobilization. The government wants it to work according to the "fight or work" principle.

Shmyhal made the corresponding statement at a press conference in Kyiv, his words are quoted by Radio Svoboda.

Shmyhal noted that the changes in the principles of reservation will not become something sensational. Changes will be made to already existing government regulations.

He added that the Cabinet of Ministers is conducting consultations with the military before introducing new reservation rules. This makes the process fair.

"There must be very fair, transparent, clear reservation rules and an answer to why this or that employee is reserved in this or that position, why he is not going to fight," the Prime Minister said.

Shmyhal emphasized that there should be no such thing as someone paid off from his constitutional duty.

"This is a key principle, this is a red line," he said.

The head of government also stated the need to move away from the wording "economic reservation" because it is not entirely correct.

According to him, it is necessary to find an understanding of how to properly support the country's economy and how to properly bring out of the shadows those who continue to receive salaries in envelopes.

Therefore, Shmyhal added, the government is working to improve the current "fight or work" approach, trying to find ways to solve existing problems.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 3, the chairman of the financial committee of the parliament, Danylo Hetmantsev, said that the economic reservation from mobilization may work by the end of the current year.

We will remind, in August, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine announced that 930,000 people received reservation from mobilization.

Earlier, before that, the ministry named enterprises that can reserve all their employees.
