Russia's Lukoil intends to resume oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline to Slovakia and Hungary in October after Hungary's MOL said it had struck deals to transport oil through Belarus and Ukraine via the pipeline.

Reuters writes about this with reference to sources, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the publication, oil supplies will resume in October, as export plans for September were made in advance and it is difficult to redirect volumes.

At the same time, MOL will take over all transport and other costs from the Belarusian-Ukrainian border to its refineries.

Previously, russia had to pay for the transit of oil through Ukraine, which caused many complications.

In September, russian Tatneft and Russneft were considered the main suppliers of crude oil to Slovakia and Hungary.

Russian oil is supplied by the Druzhba oil pipeline to Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic, which were exempted from the EU embargo on the supply of russian oil due to limited opportunities for alternative oil supplies.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 9, the Hungarian energy company Mol Nyrt announced that it had reached an agreement that would ensure the uninterrupted supply of russian crude oil via a pipeline through Ukraine.

On July 18, Lukoil stopped supplying oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline due to sanctions that Ukraine had previously imposed against the company.
