During a meeting in Kyiv with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa has announced the provision of another package of military aid to Ukraine.

Shmyhal announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Thanked the Latvian government and people for concrete and consistent steps that strengthen Ukraine. In particular, for the UAV Coalition for Ukraine initiative and the supply of drones for our soldiers. During our meeting, Mrs. Siliņa announced another package of military support, which will include armored personnel carriers," the Prime Minister's announcement reads.

According to Shmyhal, the parties discussed the expansion of cooperation in all areas related to the strengthening of the Ukrainian military on the battlefield, in particular, cooperation between defense companies.

"Latvia consistently supports sanctions against the aggressor and is our reliable ally in the integration into the EU and NATO. In addition, our Latvian friends provide assistance with energy equipment and plan to transfer solar panels for hospitals to Ukraine," Shmyhal emphasized.

Separately, he thanked his Lithuanian colleague for his support in the restoration of Ukraine, in particular, in the Chernihiv Region.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in August, Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds announced that Latvia will transfer about 500 drones to Ukraine.

On September 11, the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and the Prime Minister of Latvia Evika Siliņa arrived in Kyiv for a visit. He emphasized the importance of military and economic support for the protection of Ukraine's sovereignty.
