President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is waiting for the world's reaction to the russian missile hitting a ship with wheat for Egypt, which was previously reported by the Ukrainian News Agency.

Zelenskyy wrote about this in the Telegram channel.

"A russian missile against a cargo of wheat for Egypt. Today's strike in the Black Sea hit an ordinary civilian ship immediately after leaving Ukrainian territorial waters. According to preliminary data, fortunately, there were no casualties," he said.

Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is one of the key global donors of food security, and the internal stability and life of dozens of countries in different parts of the world depend on the normal and smooth operation of the Ukrainian export food corridor.

He emphasized that Ukraine's supply of food to African countries and the Middle East region is critical and assured that Ukraine will continue to do everything to protect its ports, the Black Sea and the supply of food to the global market.

"This is a real priority for Ukraine - protecting life, and it should be a priority for every country as well. We are waiting for the world's reaction. Wheat and food security should never be a target for missiles," the President emphasized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, last night the russians attacked the Aya vessel with wheat for Egypt with a missile, when it sailed from the port of Chornomorsk.

Zelenskyy also expects a tough and principled reaction from the world to the russians' shelling of the Red Cross vehicle in the Donetsk Region.
