Russian army launched 56 Shaheds over Ukraine. How many were downed

Overnight into Monday, September 16, the army of the aggressor country of the russian federation carried out a large-scale attack on Ukraine, using the Shaheds attack drones. From 08:00 p.m. on September 15 to 06:00 a.m. on September 16, the radio engineering troops of the Air Force of Ukraine detected and escorted 56 enemy drones launched from the territory of russia (Kursk and Yeysk).

This was reported by the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Kyiv Region became the main direction of the russian attack.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the attack.

As a result of the successful actions of Ukrainian defenders, 53 attack drones were destroyed in various regions, including the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk Regions.

Three more drones were lost in location without significant consequences or casualties.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the russians attacked 10 settlements in the Kherson Region in one day. Six people were wounded.
