Overnight into Wednesday, September 18, russian troops launched three Kh-59/69 guided air missiles and 52 Shahed-type attack drones on the territory of Ukraine, the air defense forces managed to shoot down 46 drones, five drones were lost in location, and one returned to russia.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It is noted that at night the russian occupiers struck with three Kh-59/69 missiles from the airspace of the occupied Kherson Region and 52 Shaheds from the Kursk and Yeysk areas (both - russia).

Anti-aircraft defense worked in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Sumy and Poltava Regions.

"As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 46 attack UAVs were shot down. In addition, due to the active countermeasures of the EW means of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, five UAVs were lost in location, one more enemy attack UAV flew to russia," the message says.

Also, as a result of countermeasures, the guided air missiles did not reach the targets desired by the enemy.

There is damage to agricultural machinery, according to preliminary information, there were no victims or wounded.

Aviation, mobile fire groups and units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the enemy's air attack.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the sounds of explosions were heard in Kyiv at night. Anti-aircraft defense worked on the approaches to the city.

In the first half of September, the russian occupiers launched 640 Shahed attack drones over the territory of Ukraine, most of which were shot down by the air defense forces.
