Bulgaria initiates ban on import of eggs from Ukraine to EU

European Union, Bulgaria, import, eggs, ban on import

Bulgaria will ask to stop the import of eggs from Ukraine at the upcoming meeting of the EU Council on Agriculture and Fisheries, which will be held on September 23 in Brussels.

This is written by European Pravda with reference to the Bulgarian publication 24 Chasa.

"When the import of a certain type of product or product - vegetables, meat, eggs - reaches certain limits, which the EC has outlined in advance, then we can activate the mechanism of banning their import. We are currently doing this from the point of view of eggs," Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Tahov said this during the meeting with farmers.

According to him, eggs are already included in the list of goods with increased duty and the next step is being taken, as he will demand their absolute ban at the meeting of the Council of the EU.

As Ukrainian News reported, on July 2, the EU returned customs duties on Ukrainian eggs and sugar due to exceeding quotas.
