Ukraine will continue to work in the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in 2025.

This is stated in the message of the Energoatom national nuclear energy generating company in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"At the 68th general conference of the agency, the elections of 11 new members of the board of governors took place. Ukraine, which was elected to the management team back in September 2023, will continue its work in the governing body during 2025," the message reads.

The message reminds that on September 28, 2023, at the session of the general conference of the IAEA, Ukraine was elected a member of the agency's governing board.

"It is one of two governing bodies tasked with reviewing the IAEA's financial information, program and budget. In addition, the Board of Governors reviews applications for agency membership, adopts safeguards agreements, publishes IAEA security regulations, and appoints the IAEA Director General, who is approved by the general conference," the message reads.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 12, the IAEA mission visited an electrical substation in Ukraine, which is important for nuclear safety, for the first time.
