Ukraine Ready To Implement Trilateral Contact Group Framework Decision, Pull Back Forces In Petrovske On October 7 And Stanytsia Luhanska On October 9

Ukraine is ready to implement the Framework Decision of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG; Ukraine - Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) - Russia) for resolving the situation in Donbas on the disengagement of the units of the Armed Forces and of the armed formations of separate districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions from the boundary line in three sectors, and, correspondingly, to pull back the forces in the area of Petrovske, Donetsk Region on October 7 and Stanytsia Luhanska, Luhansk Region on October 9.

Daria Olifer, a spokesperson for former president of Ukraine (1994-2005) Leonid Kuchma, Ukraine's representative on the TCG, announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Members of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DPR and LPR) go on with fire attack, Olifer stressed, in particular they shell the areas of Petrovske and Stanytsia Luhanska.

She also emphasized that the withdrawal will be only upon condition of no shelling, simultaneous withdrawal by the other side and under control of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the TCG on September 21 signed the framework agreement on a disengagement of forces and facilities of the conflict sides in three sectors within 13 days (before October 7).

These sectors are in the areas of Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrovske.

The time frames for the disengagement covers 13 days: the coordinates of the location and places of withdrawal are to be provided to the OSCE on September 22; the OSCE special monitoring mission will monitor and verify observance of the ceasefire over the next seven days; disengagement of forces and hardware will take over the next three days; the OSCE and the JCCC will then verify implementation of the Framework Decision.

The Framework Decision itself gives a maximum of 30 days for disengagement of forces in the event that the process is delayed at some stage during the 13 days stipulated in the timetable and provides for a return to the previous stage (for example, if the ceasefire is broken).
