"Deceptive target". Budanov tells what targets drones supposed to hit on Savasleyka and near Moscow

The targets of the air strike on russia overnight into August 21 were a radio communication center, an airport and an air base.

The head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, told about this in an interview with The War Zone.

He told the publication that the Defense Forces "conducted several operations with the help of drones." In total, about 50 drones were involved.

In particular, the radio communication center in Podolsk, the Ostafyevo airfield in Moscow and the Millerovo air base in the Rostov Oblast were attacked.

The extent of damage in the target locations is currently unknown.

Subsequently, Budanov stated that the Ostafyevo airfield "was a deceptive target." The head of the Defense Intelligence added that this is an airfield for transport aviation.

According to The War Zone, the drone was also shot down in the area of the Olenya air base in Murmansk - it is home to Tu-22M Backfire bombers and a bridgehead for Tu-95MS Bear-H bombers, which launched long-range missiles over Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the result of the attack by Ukrainian drones on the russian military airfield Savasleyka in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast was the destruction and damage of the MIG-31K/I aircraft and the IL-76 aircraft.

In the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of russia, explosions rang out at the Savasleyka airbase on the night of August 14. NASA satellites recorded a fire on the territory of the airfield.

Previously, operatives and analysts of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine previously identified 29 people of the command, flight and technical staff of the 44th separate long-range aviation regiment of the Air Force of the Air and Space Forces of the russian Armed Forces, which is shelling Ukraine with Kinzhal missiles.
