Ukraine can strike Kursk Oblast with US weapons - Pentagon

United States, Kursk oblast, US weapons, use of Western weapons on russian territory, operation in Kursk oblast

The United States did not change the policy of Ukraine's use of weapons on targets in the border regions of the aggressor country of the russian federation for self-defense. These regions cover the Kursk Oblast of russia, as well as the Sumy Region

Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh stated this at a briefing, European Pravda reported on Thursday, August 22.

"Our policy allows Ukraine to fire back for self-defense against Russian attacks coming from the border regions. These border regions include the Kursk Oblast and the Sumy Region. And they are defending themselves against russian attacks from that region," Singh said.

However, the permit does not apply to long-range weapons. According to her, the U.S. is currently working with Ukraine on strategic goals on the battlefield and how the creation of a buffer zone fits into them. Singh emphasized that for now the United States refrains from evaluating the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast, as they want to learn more about Ukraine's intentions and actions.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, some American officials fear that the Kursk operation may stretch the troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On August 22, Andrii Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the NSDC, said that part of the russian troops in the Kursk Oblast practically got in a cauldron.

Recall that earlier the Air Force showed a video of the destruction of russian bridges in the Kursk Oblast.
