President Zelenskyy signs law banning religious organizations associated with russia

On Saturday, August 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law banning the activities of religious organizations associated with russia in Ukraine.

This is stated in the card of the bill on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

The law was also published in the official parliamentary publication Holos Ukrainy [Voice of Ukraine].

It is noted that the purpose of the law is to ban the activities of the russian Orthodox Church and religious organizations affiliated with it in Ukraine, and to ban the propaganda of the ideology of "russian world". In particular, the use of religious organizations to promote this ideology is prohibited.

The law enters into force on the day following its publication.
