Kyiv downs all enemy air targets; night combined attack details

Overnight into Tuesday, August 27, the air defense forces destroyed around 15 drones and several missiles on the approach to Kyiv.

This follows from a statement by Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, posted on Telegram.

"In general, since the beginning of this day, the forces and means of air defense have destroyed about one and a half dozen attack drones and several missiles around Kyiv (the exact number and type of air targets will be made public by the Air Force). Everything that flew at the capital of Ukraine was destroyed," the message says.

According to Popko, in the night, the russian attack was again a combined one - the invaders attacked with drones and ballistic, cruise and aeroballistic missiles.

In Kyiv, the air alert was announced four times since the beginning of the day and lasted a total of more than five hours. Initially, it was associated with a drone attack. Drones entered the city in waves and from different directions.

At around 3 a.m., the russians launched several MiG-31Ks into the air, which fired Kinzhal missiles across the Kyiv Region in the direction of the western regions of Ukraine.

"Several enemy Tu-95MS strategic bombers took off at approximately the same time. Earlier, Kh-101 cruise missiles from these planes attacked Kyiv around 5 a.m. The airstrike, like yesterday, again ended with waves of barrage munition attacks," Popko said.

He added that falling fragments of downed targets were recorded in forest park zones of the Dniprovskyi and Desnianskyi Districts. As a result, the forest floor caught fire in several places. Some fires have already been eliminated, and the rest have been localized.

"The emergency services are working on the spot. There was no information about the victims. There was no destruction in the capital," Popko concluded.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, 15 regions were affected by the massive russian attack, and the energy infrastructure was once again the target of russian terrorists.

In particular, as a result of the morning mass shelling of the russian federation in the Kyiv Region, infrastructure facilities and houses were damaged, and one person was injured.
