The russians transferred about 30,000 of their military personnel to the Kursk Axis, but they still continue to increase their efforts in the Pokrovsk Axis.

This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, during the "Ukraine 2024. Independence" forum, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"One of the tasks of conducting an offensive operation in the Kursk Axis was precisely the diversion of significant enemy forces from other Axes, primarily this concerns the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove Axes. Of course, the enemy understands this, which is why it continues to focus its main efforts on the Pokrovsk Axis, where its most combat-ready units are concentrated. Of course, the Kursk operation diverted a significant number of its forces. At the moment, we can state that about 30,000 military personnel have already been transferred to the Kursk Axis, and this number is growing. At the same time, the enemy tries not to remove units from other Axes. On the contrary, it is increasing its efforts in the Pokrovsk Axis," he said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Syrskyi previously stated that the further actions of the Ukrainian army on the territory of the Kursk Oblast will depend on the operational situation on the spot.

According to the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), on August 19, russia transferred 5,000 troops from other areas of the front to the Kursk Oblast.
