The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has refused to take into custody the chairman of the AMCU Pavlo Kyrylenko in the case of illegal enrichment and released him on bail in the amount of UAH 30 million.

The court made such a decision on Wednesday, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

On August 28, 2024, the Investigating Judge of the HACC applied a preventive measure to the current head of the AMCU, who is suspected of illegal enrichment of UAH 56.2 million and declaration of false information (Article 368-5 and Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The court rejected the request of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NACB) detectives, approved by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SACPO) prosecutor, for detention and imposed a preventive measure on the high-ranking official in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 30.280 million with the imposition of relevant procedural obligations.

The prosecutor does not agree with the specified decision of the court and will appeal it in the appeal procedure to the Appeals Chamber of the HACC.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the prosecutors asked the court to arrest the head of the AMCU Pavlo Kyrylenko, who is suspected of illegal enrichment, and to set bail in the amount of UAH 120 million as an alternative.

According to the NACB and the SACPO, in 2020-2023, the suspect, while serving as the head of the regional state administration, acquired 21 real estate objects and a luxury car, registering the property in the name of his wife's relatives.

In March, it became known that the NACB and the SACPO opened proceedings against the head of the AMCU Pavlo Kyrylenko after the release of the Skhemy (Schemes) investigation, in which journalists stated that the Kyrylenko family owns property worth UAH 70 million.
