An electronic petition to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on lowering the mobilization age for men from 60 to 50 years has received the 25,000 votes necessary for consideration.

This is evidenced by the data on the President's website, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The corresponding petition was registered on July 5, and as of the morning of September 2, it had more than 25,000 votes.

"Appeal to the President of Ukraine to lower the mobilization age for men from 60 to 50 years, in order to improve the economic situation in the country," the petition reads.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Roman Kostenko, secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, MP from the Holos faction, is in favor of lowering the mobilization age to 20 years.

On April 3, 2024, the law on lowering the mobilization age from 27 years to 25 years entered into force.

Thus, today, men liable for military service fit for health, from 25 to 60 years old, are subject to general mobilization.
