During attempt to escape to Belarus, group of evaders almost blown up on landmines

Ukrainian border guards detained a group of men of conscript age. Violators wanted to illegally cross the state border through a mined area.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service press service on Friday, September 6.

Border guards said that during reconnaissance they noticed a group of men moving towards the border with the Republic of Belarus. They promptly arrested the violators and saved their lives, because the route of the evaders ran through a mined area.

Despite this, the men will bear criminal responsibility within the limits of the current legislation. They were transferred to the territorial center of recruitment and social support.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in the Lviv Region, evaders tried to jump over the fence into Poland.

On June 18, border guards detained a group of men who wanted to cross the border across the Tysa River in an inflatable boat.

In Hungary, a patrol boat at speed ran into a cable crossing over the Tysa River, flipped over in the air and went underwater near the Lonya-Dzvinkove crossing point, which is near the Ukrainian Zakarpattia.
