US Department of State promises Iran sanctions for transfer of ballistic missiles to russia

USA, Antony Blinken, sanctions against Iran, Iranian ballistic missiles

Iran sent short-range ballistic missiles to the aggressor state of russia, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Tuesday.

This was reported by the American newspaper The Washington Post on Tuesday, September 10.

Blinken confirmed the transfer of short-range ballistic missiles by Iran to russia. According to him, such a step involves Tehran even more and intensifies the conflict in Ukraine and exacerbates tensions between Iran and the West. Blinken said new sanctions against Iran would be announced later and would include restrictions on Iran's state-owned airline, Iran Air.

It will be recalled that in October 2023, the UN embargo against Iran expired, after which Tehran got the opportunity to sell weapons to Moscow.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in February, Reuters reported that Iran had provided Moscow with short-range surface-to-surface missiles.

On August 9, the Reuters agency reported that military personnel of the aggressor country of russia are undergoing training in the use of the Fath-360 ballistic missile system in Iran.

On September 6, the American publication The Wall Street Journal reported, citing its own sources, that the United States had warned its allies that Iran had supplied russia with ballistic missiles.

On September 7, a member of the Islamic Consultative Council (Parliament of Iran) Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani confirmed the fact of the transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to russia.
