Cyprus, Kolomoiskyi, Ihor Kolomoiskyi, Cyprus citizenship, citizenship of Cyprus, case against Kolomoiskyi, Cypriot passport

The government of Cyprus has revoked the citizenship of Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoiskyi because of the businessman's "dubious image" and reputational risks for the country.

It was reported by the Cypriot newspaper Philenews.

In Cyprus, they claim that Kolomoiskyi obtained citizenship "through fraud, false statements and concealment of essential facts." It was in 2010.

As Philenews points out, he did not mention the russian tax evasion case against him in 2008 in his naturalization application.

The court's decision states that Kolomoiskyi "was and is a person of dubious character, while his naturalization created and creates a huge risk of bad reputation for the Republic of Cyprus."

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, detectives appealed to Cyprus and Israel to provide important documents regarding their citizen Kolomoiskyi. The investigators of the Bureau of Economic Security said that they could not find the former chief accountant of PrivatBank in the case of Ihor Kolomoiskyi. Kolomoiskyi's arrest was changed to a bail of UAH 1.8 billion in the case of PrivatBank.
