The International Monetary Fund (IMF) may require an additional increase in taxes if there is a significant difference in revenues and expenditures in the state budget.

Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Holos faction, announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the MP, the Ministry of Finance reported that the IMF program contains a provision that if there are significant changes in revenues and expenditures in the 2025 budget, there will be a demand for an additional increase in taxes (including VAT).

"I clarified whether it is necessary in the parameters in which the 2025 budget is currently submitted? The answer is no. In such macro-indicators included in the budget, there is no need to additionally balance apart from government law 11416d," he said.

The Ministry of Finance agreed to a tax on banks.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada failed the bill on increasing taxes and sent it to the repeated first reading.
