Cabinet appoints three international auditors of NABU. What is known about them

The Cabinet of Ministers appointed three international experts as auditors of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU).

This is stated in the order of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 3 under No. 832, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The government approved the composition of the Commission for conducting an external independent assessment (audit) of the effectiveness of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.

The commission included 3 people.

Martin ARPO - lawyer, ex-deputy director general of the Internal Security Service of Estonia; ex-advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Werol Tehased AS.

Robert WESTBROOKS, LL.D., Senior Advisor, Center for Audit Excellence, Government Accountability Office; advisor and consultant for international higher audit institutions and other accountability offices on performance audits, fraud and corruption under agreements with USAID; former executive director of the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC); ex-general inspector of the Corporation for guaranteeing pension payments; ex-deputy inspector general of the US Small Business Administration; former criminal investigator, lawyer, program manager for the Office of the Inspector General of the US Postal Service and the US Department of Transportation.

Hermione Therese CRONJE - international expert on anti-corruption issues; ex-consultant of the Stolen Assets Recovery Initiative (StAR) (a joint initiative of the World Bank and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC); ex-anti-corruption specialist of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Authorities (GlobE Network); ex-investigative director of the National Prosecutor's Office of the South of Africa; ex-lawyer (in private practice); ex-regional head of the South African Office of Public Prosecutions; ex-researcher of the South African Parliament's Special Committee on Justice and Constitutional Development.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the director of NABU refused to talk about the bureau's international audit. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hopes that the international audit of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau will be conducted this year.
