Ukraine will receive another SAMP/T complex from Italy by late September

Ukraine will receive the second SAMP/T anti-aircraft missile complex from Italy by the end of September.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said this in his closing speech at the European Trade in Air and Missile Defense conference, RAI News reports.

"By the end of this month, the new SAMP/T system will be delivered to Ukraine, and we know how much every minute of delay costs," Crosetto said.

Earlier, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said that the Italian Ministry of Defense is currently preparing to send the second SAMP/T air defense system to protect the Ukrainian population.

As reported, the SAMP/T system, also known as MAMBA, is a Franco-Italian development that can track dozens of targets and destroy ten of them simultaneously. This is the only European-made system capable of intercepting ballistic missiles.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Norway also announced the allocation of NOK 1 billion (USD 92.69 million) to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.

In early September, the Romanian government approved a bill that allows the free transfer of the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine, and sent it to the parliament for consideration.

Earlier, Zelenskyy said that in order to completely close the sky of Ukraine, it is necessary to have 25 Patriot systems. At the same time, he noted that for the protection of the sky, this is not the only system that Ukraine needs, but it is the most powerful.
