Occupiers turn Kinburn Spit into war zone and are destroying it – Navy of Ukraine

Mykolaiv region, shelling of Mykolaiv region, Kinburn Spit

The russian occupiers have turned the Kinburn Spit in the Mykolaiv Region into a war zone, due to shelling, fires often occur in the territory of the reserve, which the occupiers do not pay attention to, which further complicates the situation.

Spokesman of the Naval Forces Captain 3rd Rank Dmytro Pletenchuk told about this on the air of Suspilne Novyny.

According to Pletenchuk, the russians have set up their positions on the Kinburn Spit and periodically conduct shelling from there, which affects the southern part of the Mykolaiv Region, the Dnieper–Bug estuary and the Kherson Region.

The spokesman noted that the russians receive a response from the Armed Forces of Ukraine to their attacks, which is why the territory of the Kinburn Spit becomes a battlefield.

"As a result of this, ignitions and forest fires can occur. Therefore, unfortunately, such facts take place, because now it is actually a zone of hostilities, and there are enough active ones," Pletenchuk explained.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine recently inflicted a devastating blow on the ammunition and fuel warehouse of the russian invaders, located on the Kinburn Spit in the Black Sea. As a result of the attack, the object was liquidated.

It was also reported that from the temporarily occupied Kinburn Spit, the russians are capable of attacking vessels that could potentially enter the waters of the Dnieper–Bug estuary, and can also fire at Mykolaiv and other cities.
