Lawyer of suspect in Farion’s murder tells about similarity of case with murder of Sheremet

Lawyer, Ukrainian language, Pavlo Sheremet, Iryna Farion, Lviv Polytechnic, Iryna Farion murder, Farion murder, suspect in murder, Vyacheslav Zinchenko, Ihor Sulyma

Ihor Sulyma, the lawyer of the suspect in the murder of Iryna Farion, is sure that this case is similar to the case of the murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet.

He told about this in an interview with Ukrainian News Agency.

"It's the same story. In the future, you'll see that it's the same story," the lawyer believes.

Sulyma noted that he does not rule out that in the future the suspect will be released from custody, as was the case with those involved in the Sheremet case.

"I don't completely rule it out. There is no direct evidence of his participation in this murder at all. If he says that he didn't do it, I don't know what efforts the investigation should make to prove that he was the one who shot," the lawyer said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Vyacheslav Zinchenko, the suspect in the murder of Lviv Polytechnic professor Iryna Farion, refused to testify in the case. The court chose a preventive measure for the guy suspected of murdering linguist and activist Iryna Farion - detention for 60 days without the right to bail. On July 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a suspect in the murder of linguist and former Member of Parliament of Ukraine Iryna Farion was detained in Dnipro.

On July 19, around 7:30 p.m., an unknown man shot Farion with a firearm in Lviv, Farion died in the hospital that evening.
