Russia targeting medical facilities in Ukraine. Over 200 completely destroyed

As a result of systematic attacks and bombings, russian terrorist forces damaged 1,642 medical facilities of Ukraine and completely destroyed 214 more.

The Ministry of Health reported this.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the aggressor country has systematically attacked and bombed hospitals, dispensaries, polyclinics, maternity homes, etc.

"To date, as of the beginning of August 2024, the enemy has already damaged 1,642 medical facilities and completely destroyed another 214. Medical facilities in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Regions suffered the greatest losses. Currently, it is impossible to obtain complete information on the degree of destruction of medical facilities in the temporarily occupied territories," the Ministry of Health noted.

In addition, the russian occupiers destroyed 261 and captured 125 emergency medical aid vehicles, another 188 vehicles were damaged. It was possible to completely restore 523 facilities of medical institutions, partially - 361. Most facilities were restored in the Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv Regions. The Ministry of Health reported that work on the reconstruction of medical facilities will continue.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in August 2023, UAH 3.3 billion were allocated from the state budget for the restoration of medical facilities destroyed by the russian federation.
