As a result of the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast, the command of the russian federation redeployed more than 5,000 soldiers from other fronts in Ukraine to this axis.

This was reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

In their report, the analysts refer to the material of The Wall Street Journal, which states that, according to a source familiar with the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk Oblast, russian forces have moved several brigades of incomplete personnel, totaling 5,000 soldiers, from other regions of Ukraine to the Kursk Oblast. It happened between August 6 and 13.

It is also reported that the russian forces transferred one of the incomplete brigades from the Donetsk Region. The ISW suggests that it could be the "Pyatnashka" brigade of the so-called "DPR", which, according to the institute's observations, arrived in the Kursk Oblast around August 8 together with other small russian irregular units from the Donetsk Region.

As of August 15, units of the 200th motorized rifle brigade were also transferred to the Kursk Oblast. ISW has observed that these units have been involved in fighting near Chasiv Yar of the Donetsk Region in recent months.

In addition, the WSJ's information about the transfer of 5,000 troops partially coincides with the data about the transfer of up to 11 battalions to the front line in the Kursk Oblast.

Analysts also noted that on August 17, the russian "Tiger" battalion of the 155th marines announced the transfer of its units to the Kursk Oblast. Earlier, on July 31, ISW observed units of this battalion operating near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv Region.

Thus, experts note that since the beginning of the operation in the Kursk Oblast, russian troops have transferred additional forces there, probably more than 5,000 people.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 18, the aircraft of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine blew up another bridge in the Kursk Axis.

On August 17, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about strengthening the positions of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk Oblast.

On August 16, the Defense Forces of Ukraine, with the help of aviation, destroyed a road bridge over the Seim River in the settlement of Glushkovo, Kursk Oblast.
