MP Dubnevych illegally flees abroad day before suspicion - Kostin

notice of suspicion, suspicion, Yaroslav Dubnevych, Andrii Kostin, Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin

Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin said that the case of Member of Parliament Artem Dmytruk fleeing Ukraine abroad on the eve of suspicion is not the only one. Another member of the Verkhovna Rada, Yaroslav Dubnevych, also fled the country.

Prosecutor General Kostin said this during a forum in Kyiv, commenting on cases of parliamentarians fleeing abroad, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"We have another person, an MP, whose last name also starts with D, who also fled abroad illegally a day before the suspicion was announced," said Kostin.

The Prosecutor General's Office specified that Kostin was referring to MP Dubnevych.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Yaroslav Dubnevych, a member of the Verkhovna Rada, declared internationally wanted, left Ukraine across the border with Romania. A court arrested MP Dubnevych, but in absentia. Dubnevych fled abroad, so he was put on an international wanted list.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NACB) and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SACPO) suspect MP Dubnevych of organizing the seizure of Naftogaz's preferential gas for the amount of UAH 2.1 billion by his two thermal power plants - Novorozdilska and Novoyavorivska.
