The United States is preparing a USD 375 million military aid package for Ukraine, which it plans to announce next week.

This was reported by the Reuters agency with reference to US officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The aid package, which is expected to be announced next week, includes patrol boats, additional munitions for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 155- and 105-millimeter artillery ammunition, spare parts and other weapons.

The publication adds that the contents and size of the package may change in the coming days before the President's expected signature.

The publication recalls that since May, the US has not provided aid packages worth more than USD 275 million due to the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA).

"PDA allows the US to use existing stockpiles of weapons to provide assistance to allies in emergency situations. In August, when Ukraine was approaching russia (during the operation in the Kursk Oblast - ed.) and was losing territory in the east due to the russian offensive, the US sent two aid packages, each worth USD 125 million."

Reuters adds that pro-Ukrainian leaders in the US Congress and the administration of President Joe Biden are working to reach an agreement on a one-year extension of an action to help Ukraine worth about USD 5.5 billion, which expires on September 30.
