President Zelenskyy signs law on increasing defense budget expenditures by UAH 500 billion

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signed the law on increasing defense spending in the 2024 budget. It is about UAH 495.3 billion.

The website of the Verkhovna Rada and the Telegram of MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak inform about this.

"The President signed No. 11417 on increasing the budget this year by UAH 500 billion for military needs," Zhelezniak wrote.

According to him, a new record has been set in terms of expenditures for Ukraine - UAH 3.73 trillion, which is 2.3 times more than the budget before the start of a full-scale war.

The signature of the law is also evidenced by the card of the document posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on September 20.

According to the information on the parliament's website, the law, adopted by 298 votes of parliamentarians on September 18, was submitted to the President for signature on September 20, after it was signed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, on the same day.
