Trump doesn't really know how to stop war, even if he thinks so - Zelenskyy

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump may not actually know how to stop the war, "even if he thinks he does."

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated this in an interview with The New Yorker.

"It often happens with this war that the deeper you look into it, the less you understand," the Ukrainian leader emphasized.

Zelenskyy also assured that he saw many leaders who were convinced that they knew how to end this war tomorrow, "but the deeper they delved into the situation, the more clearly they realized that everything is not so simple."

Zelenskyy recalled how Trump at the debate avoided answering whether he wanted Ukraine to win. Then he simply stated that he wanted the war to stop.

"He says he wants the war to stop. Well, so do we. These phrases and wishes unite the world. But the scary question is: who will bear the costs of ending the war? Some may say that the Minsk agreements have either been stopped or froze hostilities at a certain point. But they also gave the Russians a chance to arm themselves even better and strengthen their false claims to our occupied territories," Zelenskyy said.
