"Saboteur" who spoiled cable at Olympics was an ordinary marten - Paris prosecutor's office

olympics, Olympic Games, Paris, 2024 Olympics

The Paris prosecutor's office closed the case regarding the damage to the fiber optic cable in the fan zone of the Olympic Games, because it turned out that it was not a planned sabotage, but an ordinary marten.

This was reported by BFMTV.

In the fan zone of the Olympic Games in Chateau de Vincennes, a series of damage to the fiber optic cable was discovered.

On July 29, cable damage was observed in eight different locations. A new damage was discovered the next day, and another one on August 3.

In connection with the incidents, the Paris prosecutor's office has launched an investigation.

However, after watching the video footage from the surveillance cameras, it became clear that the marten was responsible for the "sabotage".

"After the analysis of the sections of the cables and the recordings of video surveillance cameras, the actions that are the subject of the investigation were attributed to the marten and the case was dismissed due to the absence of a crime," the Paris prosecutor's office said.

The technicians ran the new cable a little further so it was no longer in the way of the marten.

We will remind you that today at the Olympics, 4 Ukrainian athletes will compete for medals. Competition schedule for August 5.

Meanwhile, gymnast Kovtun won a silver medal for Ukraine at the Olympics in Paris.
