Court grants investigation access to bank account of murdered Farion in PrivatBank

The Halytskyi District Court of Lviv granted the investigation access to the bank account of the murdered professor of the Lviv Polytechnic Iryna Farion in PrivatBank.

This is stated in court documents, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

On July 19, the investigation inspected the premises of the inpatient emergency department of the hospital where Farion was brought.

During the inspection, a number of material evidence was discovered and seized, including the personal belongings of the murdered woman.

Among the things were bank cards, in particular JSC CB PrivatBank.

In order to carry out measures to collect any information that will be of importance in the course of the pre-trial investigation, including, Farion's connections and contacts are being worked out.

In the criminal proceedings, there was a need to obtain complete information regarding the existing (known) card accounts of the deceased, opened in PrivatBank and other accounts in order to ensure a quick, complete and impartial investigation and establish the movement of funds.

The investigation was interested in information on Farion card accounts, in particular, information on the movement of funds on the accounts, with the deciphering of counterparties, reference numbers, the purpose and amount of the payment with an indication of the incoming and outgoing balance on the accounts, the date and time of making payments, transaction numbers that testify to cash flow on bank accounts/cards for the period from January 01, 2023 to July 19, 2024.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, more than UAH 15,000 were found in the wallet of Lviv Polytechnic professor Iryna Farion after the murder.

The Halytskyi District Court of Lviv seized the international passport of the murdered professor and linguist Iryna Farion, a sewing kit, apartment keys, USD 200, and 2 pairs of underpants, seized from the resident hospital where she was taken after being wounded in the head.

The investigation got access to Farion's phone and is studying the calls and her personal correspondence in messengers.
