Suspect in murder of Farion transferred to another pre-trial detention center for his safety

Vyacheslav Zinchenko, a suspect in the murder of professor and linguist Iryna Farion, was transferred to another pre-trial detention center for his personal protection.

This is evidenced by court materials, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

On July 31, 2024, the Halytskyi District Court of Lviv issued a court decision at the request of the investigator, for the purpose of personal protection of the suspect, who was transferred from the "Lviv Penitentiary Institution (No. 19)" to the temporary detention facility No. 4 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region, where he is currently located.

In this way, the personal protection of the suspect was ensured.

Currently, according to the investigation and the court, there are no direct threats to the life and health of the suspect.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the investigation found the black panama of the alleged killer of Farion.

Vyacheslav Zinchenko, the suspect in the murder of Lviv Polytechnic professor Iryna Farion, refused to testify in the case. The court chose a preventive measure for the guy who is suspected of murdering linguist and activist Iryna Farion - detention for 60 days without the right to bail.

The daughter of the murdered linguist Iryna Farion, Sofia Semchyshyn, wished the suspect in her mother's murder to die in prison.
