Syrskyi on Pokrovsk axis: enemy throwing everything that can move into battle

Oleksandr Syrskyi, Pokrovsk, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Pokrovsk axis

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, reporting on the situation on the Pokrovsk axis in the Donetsk Region, where the most difficult situation has developed at the moment, noted that there the enemy throws into battle everything that can move and advance, trying to break through the defense of the Ukrainian troops.

Syrskyi announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"I worked for several days in a row in the brigades that hold the defense on the Pokrovsk axis, where at that time the most difficult situation has developed. Work in the headquarters continues almost 24 hours a day. We constantly have to make non-standard decisions to strengthen the defense and destroy the advancing enemy," he said.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, the most intense battles are taking place on the eastern outskirts of Hrodivka, further along the border of the Kamianyi and Krasnyi ravines, directly in Novohrodivka, below, in the area of the eastern outskirts of Mykhailivka, which is located in front of Selydove.

"The battles are extremely tough. The enemy throws into battle everything that can move and advance, trying to break through the defense of our troops. Our fighters show courage and heroism in battles with the overwhelming forces of the enemy," he noted.

Syrskyi emphasized that in such conditions, the main task is to strengthen the defense of the Ukrainian troops in the most difficult areas of the front, to provide the brigades with a sufficient amount of ammunition and other material and technical means.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 27, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced at a press conference that he considers the offensive operation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast (russia) successful, despite the difficult situation on the Pokrovsk axis.

Syrskyi reported that one of the tasks of conducting an offensive operation on the Kursk axis was to divert significant enemy forces from other axes, primarily this concerns the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove axes. At the same time, according to him, the enemy is trying not to remove units from other axes, and on the contrary, the enemy is increasing its efforts on the Pokrovsk axis.
