MP Dmytruk, who fled abroad, arrested

The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the current Member of Parliament Artem Dmytruk, who fled from Ukraine.

This was announced by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The Pecherskyi District Court of the city of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for Dmytruk in the form of detention without bail.

SBI employees under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office yesterday declared him as internationally wanted.

The court decision and the corresponding decision of the Bureau on the wanted announcement will be sent to the Department of International Police Cooperation of the National Police of Ukraine to organize the entry of information about the international wanted into the records of the General Secretariat of Interpol "issuing the so-called red alert" and initiating the detention of the suspect outside of Ukraine in order to further extradition.

On August 25, the Prosecutor General reported suspicions against Dmytruk, who participated in attacks on citizens, including a law enforcement officer, attempted theft of firearms, etc.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, for stripping the mandate of fugitive MP Artem Dmytruk exclusively, in accordance with Article 81 of the Constitution.

The State Bureau of Investigation under the procedural leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office initiated criminal proceedings on the fact of the illegal border crossing by a sitting MP, who was informed today of the suspicion of attacks on citizens.
