Former U.S. President Donald Trump has agreed to a debate with Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris on ABC on September 10.

ABC News reported this on X.

"ABC News will host qualifying presidential candidates to debate on September 10 on ABC. Vice President Harris and former President Trump have both confirmed they will attend the ABC debate,” the statement said.

In another tweet, ABC News quoted Trump as saying about agreeing to the debate: " I look forward to the debates because I think we have to set the record straight.”

In addition, Trump's opponent Kamala Harris herself reacted to the news.

"I hear that Donald Trump has finally committed to debating me on September 10. I look forward to it," she wrote on X.

Recalled that earlier the U.S. presidential candidate from the Republican Party, Donald Trump, offered to hold a debate with the current Vice President from the Democratic Party, Kamala Harris, on the Fox News channel on September 4. In response, the Harris campaign said Trump was trying to cancel the debate, which had already been scheduled for ABC.

Earlier, Trump said he was "absolutely" ready to debate Harris, adding that he would be open to debating her more than once. At the same time, even then, Trump left the door open to abandon plans for a debate on ABC.
