U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris leads or is tied with former president Donald Trump in 6 of 7 key states.

It was reported by The Hill with reference to a survey conducted by the Cook Political Report Swing State Project.

So, according to the poll, Harris is now slightly ahead of Trump in five states where elections will be held - Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. And also has an equal rating with him in Georgia. Trump's only lead is in Nevada, but Harris has closed the gap by 6 points since the last poll in May.

In Georgia, the two leaders are tied with 48% support. According to the poll, Trump previously led Biden by 3 points in this state.

Since launching her campaign last month after Biden dropped out of the race, Harris has gained momentum in national and swing state polls. Harris leads Trump by 1.4 percentage points based on 114 polls, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ national polling average.

The Cook poll was conducted among 2,867 likely voters in seven states between July 26 and Aug. 2 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.83 percentage points.
